KATIE GLAVIN

Diversions will be in place in Castlelyons, beginning in October, due to the closure of a section of the L1516 at Ballyoran.

The closure of the road, to facilitate the construction of a cattle underpass, will be in place from 8am on Monday, October 11, until 5pm on Friday, October 15, and will see the road closed for 24 hour periods.

Diversions are set to be in place for motorists travelling in the area.

Traffic heading east are advised to stay on the R639-289 and divert via the L1515 through College Road, Fermoy and Strawhall, to Kenny’s Cross.

While motorists travelling west are advised to divert via Castlelyons on the L1518 and head west on the L1520 via Rathcormac and north on the R639.

The temporary closure of a section of the L1516 is being carried out under the Roads Act, 1993.
