Dairygold appoint Pat Gaynor as independent non-executive director

The Board of Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited has appointed Pat Gaynor, a former managing director at Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking, as an independent non-executive director. He will replace Dan Flinter, former chief executive of Enterprise Ireland, who has served his maximum permitted term on the Dairygold Board.

Pat, a former managing director at Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking, where he headed up its Irish and UK corporate lending businesses, retired from that position in November 2020. He will take up his Dairygold Board position in January next and will serve alongside independent business advisor, Annette Flynn as one of two Independent non-executive directors on the Dairygold Board.

WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE

Announcing the appointment, Dairygold chairman, John O’Gorman, said, “Pat is a recognised senior leader and influencer in banking and financial services, with over 40 years’ experience of commercial and corporate banking, during which he played a key role in the financing of the agri and dairy industry, both domestically and internationally”.

Acknowledging thanks to Dan Flinter for what he described as ‘sterling board service’ over ten years, the chairman added that Pat “having held such senior positions as MD, Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking, Ireland & UK (2004-2020), will bring a wealth of business and finance experience to the Dairygold Board to support the Co-Op’s continuing growth objectives”.
