Mud to fly in Rathcormac for grasstrack event

MARIAN ROCHE

The Celtic Bike & Quad Racing (CBQR) group are coming to Rathcormac on Sunday, with a brand new endurance class added to the event schedule on the day. On 26th September, 120 entrants will compete across 20 different classes.

This year, the class was added for enduro bikes, after suggestions were made to the group owing to the recent popularity of the bike, and the low number of endurance-type events at present.

The event will take place on a grass field, where silage was cut a short time ago. The track will be marked out with stakes and tape, and competitors are classed according to experience, age and bike/quad type.

All classes will be run separately, except in the case of low numbers. Each race will begin with one set of practice laps for competitors, to allow for familiarisation with the track.

The last CBQR event was held in Deer Farm in Mitchelstown on 2nd August, with 126 competitors, aged from 6 to 70. The event was the first to be held since lockdown restrictions were imposed in 2020.

Further information is available at CBQR.ie.
