Loreto, Fermoy TY trip to Ballyhass Lakes

Last week we travelled to Ballyhass Lakes in Mallow. We were on a TY bonding trip to make new friends as part of our transition year experience. The aim was to bring us closer as a year group.

Ballyhass was a very strenuous day with much more physical activity than a normal PE class. We found the waterpark the most enjoyable activity from the trip, even the teachers got in on the fun. There were many team bonding activities that brought the girls closer than ever. It was a nice break from the tasters of Leaving Cert classes, giving the girls time to refresh and revive.

We were put into groups and got the chance to talk to so many people in our year. Some laughed, some cried tears of joy, but we all really enjoyed it. It was a very good bonding experience and overall the day turned out to be a lot of fun, despite the weather or how cold the conditions were.

We also didn’t just get to bond with our friends, but with teachers too. Our year head was a champion on the water course! Some people overcame their fear of heights. Others gained confidence in the water and were able to complete the inflatable obstacle course.

Although it did rain for an exceptional portion of the day, and many girls got covered in mud, nothing could dampen out the happiness and exhilaration of the trip.
