Bike Week at Scoil Mhuire, Ballyhooly

The children in Scoil Mhuire Ballyhooly cycled to school on Wednesday, 15th September as part of Bike Week. Scoil Mhuire, is committed to being a green school and encourages a healthy school run.

Cycling has a positive impact on children’s health and wellbeing as well as the environment. Many children got bicycles during lockdown and were eager to show off their cycling skills. Great use was made of our new bicycle rack, which was purchased using the funding we received from the Community Environment Action Fund.

As part of Bike Week, the children also participated in bicycle safety lessons and brought their helmets to school to learn how to fit them correctly.
