BURNCOURT PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

Though Burncourt’s Pumpkin Festival had to be downscaled last autumn, the arrival of the scarecrows is eagerly awaited. It’s time to be extra creative this year and really add some life to the village. Contributions since the festival started have revealed an amazing amount of talent in the community.

Let’s all make a special effort this year. No need to social distance the scarecrows, they have Covid immunity. Other ideas to add to the festival would be most welcome. Contact any BCC member.

AUTUMN DECORATIONS

Let’s add some autumn decorations

to our homes as part of Burncourt’s Pumpkin Festival. We can all do our bit to enliven our surroundings with some spirit and the free and wonderful seasonal colours literally at our feet. Let’s dispel the doom and gloom and with a flurry of vitality brighten up the environment for all.

The following are only suggestions: Door wreaths, pumpkin filled window boxes, replacing the fallen leaves with some tree ornaments, the list is endless.

SCHOOL BEGINNERS

Welcome to the new pupils at Burncourt National School. Wishing happy school days to Aleena, Freya, Rian, Hazel, Tyler, Mai, Nancy, Frank, Conor, Shay and Lauren.

OPENING UP OF COMMUNITY HALL

With Covid restrictions easing, it is hoped that more activities can recommence in Burncourt Community Hall. Any queries re: availability of Hall, please contact 087- 6967661.

RECENT BIRTH

Congratulations to David Caplice and Clodagh Barry on the recent birth of their son. We wish the delighted parents every joy and blessing with the new arrival and wish baby Matthew David a lifetime of health and happiness.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some have yachts, some have canoes and some are drowning. Just be kind and help whoever you can. Unknown
