What a great bunch the Kilara Og U15 hurlers are with their never-saydie attitude! This is the kind of spirit that won them County final honours at the expense of Mallow in the Premier 2 County Final played in Shanballymore last Sunday. Well done to one and all and to their management team on a fantastic win.

DENIS ON THE TELLY (AGAIN)

Pound Lane (Glenseskin) native Dnnis Hynes will feature on RTE 1 on Monday night at 9.30pm in a programme that was recorded in McAuley Place in Naas where he lives.

Denis, a young 80 year-old, has appeared on a few television programmes in the past. While Denis is not sure how much he will feature in the programme, he did say that the programme is to do with how people spent their time during lockdown.

BINGO

After the long lockdown, bingo returns to Heaphy Grove on Monday night next at 8pm. Please note proof of vaccine essential.

SQUASH COURTS OPEN

Good news for squash players this week as the local courts are open again. Old and new members are very welcome. Membership renewals will be taken on Monday and Tuesday night next from 7-8pm to facilitate renewal of club membership and to help with distribution of fobs etc. Further info from club secretary Donal Horgan, on (086)873 9079 or at donalh92@gmail.com.

KILWORTH GAA LOTTO

No winner of this week’s lotto jackpot. Numbers drawn were 05, 12, 27 and 31. €50 went to Indie Whelan Sidney c/o Centra with €25 each to Cian and John Condon c/o Kelly Condon, Lee Daly c/o Online and Siobhan Cahill c/o Centra. Next week’s jackpot on Monday September 27th is €12,200. Tickets cost just €2 each or 3 lines for €5 and they are available online, in the local business outlets or from your usual local sellers.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmations went off without a hitch on Wednesday and Thursday of last week in St Martin’s Church and in Araglin earlier in the week. God bless all those who received the Sacrament, also Canon Leahy, the teachers involved and all those who assisted.
