Wolf Academy work with CBS Mitchelstown TY students

By Gabriel Casey, TY student

TY students of our own CBS Secondary School recently participated in a type of wellness workshop with Wolf Academy. Orchestrated by brothers Daryl and Cormac, Wolf Academy aims to promote personal wellness using a variety of techniques encouraging young people to find productive outlets for their energy and to talk about any internal conflict they may be having. The academy was set up from personal experiences, as the two brothers endured the consequences of internalising their issues.

Daryl and Cormac gave the boys a brief yet inspirational account of their lives and how negatively not talking about anything that’s bothering you could affect you later in life. They ran the lads through a range of activities and techniques including meditating, yoga, intense physical exercise, and a few different discussion-based exercises that demonstrated to the lads how beneficial these techniques really were.

Huge thanks must be given to Wolf Academy for coordinating this workshop. I think all the lads took something out of it in some form or another, I know I did. I hope the lads will put some of the techniques they learned from Daryl and Cormac into practice because talking about it is one thing but acting on it is a totally different thing altogether, as we all know. But as they say, action speaks louder than words.
