The Avondhu

Congratulations to our U12s

GO GAMES FOOTBALL

Saturday was a busy morning with our U8, U9, U10s and U11s all out in force in our own pitch in Glenville, The Pike, Glanmire and in Ballincollig.

ONLINE CLUB SHOP LAUNCHED

We have launched our new online club shop and we have a huge choice of different O’Neills pieces of clothing to choose from. Just go to oneills.com, click on clubs and education, search for Glenville GAA and browse around for yourself.

LOTTO

Jackpot €19,800, numbers drawn were 1, 4, 8 and 15. No winner. Congratulations to our lucky dip winners: Dermot O’Leary,

Shane Forde, Phil Purcell and Brian Howley. This week’s draw is on Friday, September 24 and the jackpot is an incredible €19,900.

U12

Congratulations to the U12 footballers who pulled out all the stops to beat Aghada and qualify for the semi-final. A super game and a great performance from our lads. Final score Glenville 3-13 Aghada 3-11.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to everyone who took in the inaugural Glenville to Croke Park Challenge. The winners of the 3 spot prizes were Michelle O’Brien - A yearly subscription to the club lotto, Gearóid Fitzgerald - A €50 club shop voucher and Peter Curtain - A club jersey.

JUNIOR CFL v BALLINACURRA

Ballinacurra proved too strong for Glenville on this occasion even though we had plenty scoring chances to be a lot closer. At half-time we trailed 2-6 to 0-2. We played a lot better in the second half but hitting the target proved a struggle. Full-time 5-10 to 0-8.

UPCOMING FIXTURES

U17 semi-final is on this Sunday against Carrigtwohill in Carrigtwohill at 12 noon. Intermediate football championship v Kilshannig Saturday in Killavullen at 4pm. Junior C championship v Youghal this Friday in Fouhys at 7.30pm (probable).
