Team E winners

The final game of our very successful club league took place on Sunday morning. Four teams were on the tee boxes greeted by brilliant sunshine adding to the occasion.

When all cards were checked team E Marian Tobin, Derry Walsh, Tom Shanahan, Catherine Morrissey, Pat McNamara were winners on 137. Team D, Dan Noonan, Barry Doyle, Helen Tobin, Liz O’Rahilly, Seán Hegarty were 2nd on 141. Team G Denis Doherty, John Hogan, Maria Roche, Ela Lovett, Chris Murphy were 3rd. on 147. Overall gross winners for the league - ladies Marian Tobin 170, gents Kevin Doyle 154. Three holes in one winners during the league were Joe Lee, Bob Burke and John Hogan.

At the presentation of prizes chairman Michael Gowen welcomed and thanked all for making the club league a success, he congratulated all the winners, he thanked John McCarthy, Jerry Greehy and Seán Howard for checking the cards during the league.

We had a threeball scramble competition for those not taking part in the league. The winners (on back 9) were Richie Carey, Nell Coughlan, Nan Downey on a score of 352/3 nett.

Tuesday afternoon’s fourball competition winners were Seán Howard and Seamus Fox on a score of 37 nett. John Hogan and Tom Keneally were gross winners on a score 49. Thursday afternoon’s scotch fourball winners (on the back 9) were Michael Gowen and Breda O’Keeffe on a score of 411/2 nett. Chris Murphy and Ella Lovett were gross winners on a score of 56.

Brian’s sponsored competitions are very popular in our club, we hope to have a good turnout for Sunday’s morning’s competition.

Coaching continues this Saturday at 3pm on the course. Tuesday and Thursday afternoon’s competition tees of at 2.30pm sharp. Sunday morning competition tee off 10.15am sharp.
