Good win over Dripsey

Kilworth LGFA travelled to Dripsey on Sunday, September 19 to play their first junior championship game for the club. Laura got the scoring going with an early free to cancel out the first score of the game by the opposition. This was followed by a goal from Emma after a pinpoint pass from Stacey.

Further points from both Emma and Laura kept us in touch but we trailed at the break 1-5 to 1-4.

With a slight breeze now in Kilworth’s favour and with crisper passing, a well worked move resulted in a cracking goal from Laura and in this quarter three further points from Laura, Emma and Sarah had the girls going into the last quarter 5 points up, as the backs dominated along with the midfield pairing of Stacey and Rachel in excellent form.

The last quarter saw Dripsey add four further points as they tried to peg back Kilworth’s lead. The girls however kept up the tempo and two further goals from the on form Sarah and Aoibhe who was alert to a ball that came off the post to slot expertly into the bottom corner of the net.

A penalty by Laura in the final couple of minutes added to give the girls a win on a final score of Kilworth 5-7 to Dripsey 1-9. Next up is Banteer away on Sunday, 26th at 12 o’clock.
