A feast of football last weekend as the U8s, U9s, U10s and U11s all took part in their football fixtures and plenty of great displays and performances to reflect and report on, well done to all the teams, coaches and parents for the continued support as the seasons action continues.

U8S

U8s were on the road again this past weekend. They travelled to Castlelyons and played teams from Mitchelstown, Kilworth, Araglin and Castlelyons in their Rebel Óg U8 football blitz. Great displays all round, with all the boys playing for each other with great team play, hand passing, near hand tackling, blocking and some well worked team scores, they did themselves and everyone proud once more. Well done boys.

U9S

Last Saturday the sun greeted the teams hosting by U9s in Ballyhooly, for Rebel Óg football blitz as teams from Castletownroche, Kilara Óg and Mitchelstown took part in a great mornings display of football. Well done to all the teams.

U10S

Last week was a busy one for the U10 boys, as they travelled on Thursday evening, September 16 to play football against Fermoy. It was a great performance, and they were ably assisted by some younger U9 clubmen, James Hanrahan, Eanna Finnan, Will O’Connell and Jerry Sheedy, well done boys.

The boys then hosted Bride Rovers for hurling on Saturday morning, the 18th in Ballyhooly and put in a great display with lots of teamplay and scores throughout. Another busy week looms this week with training and hosting Killavullen for football and hurling this Saturday 25th. Best of luck boys.

U11S

Our U11 boys put on a superb performance in Fermoy last Saturday, September 18 where they played Fermoy and Mitchelstown. All of the players contributed in what was a fantastic display of scoring, mixed with excellent teamwork and defending, well done boys.

GOLF CLASSIC – BEST WISHES AND THANK YOU

The annual Ballyhooly GAA golf classic was due to take place last Friday, September 17 but due to weather and course conditions will now take place this Friday 24th. This yearly event is an additional and vital source of raising funds for the running of the club each year. We wish all organisers, players and supporters of this event the best of luck. All of our younger players and members are helping with the sale of the raffle tickets and we appreciate and thank everyone for their support in this, as you have through all the years, the response and sale of tickets through the juvenile groups has been great and very much appreciated.

This year there will again be a juvenile club fundraiser at the par 3 5th hole. To enter players donate entry fee, and if tee shot lands on the green they qualify for the draw with a top prize of €200 cash. Special thanks to the prize sponsors of the fundraiser Pipe Life Ltd. All funds raised on this hole, will go towards the vital running costs of our juvenile GAA through the year.
