NEW YEAR WISHES

Our country looks bleak right now, but spring will come. When you’re out walking, keep a look out for the green shoots, that will give us all a bit of encouragement. Focus on the positives, the small stretch in the evenings and better days ahead.

ARAGLIN COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The results from the annual Community Council draw is as follows: 1st prize Donal Lysaght, Fermoy (€150), 2nd prize Niamh Carey (hamper), 3rd prize Kevin Fitzgerald (€50). Other prizes were also allocated and well done to all the winners.

Plans are also afoot by Araglin Community Council to organise a walk in association with Charlie Bird and his climb on Croagh Patrick on 2nd April. Fear not, the Community Council don’t have their sights on Croagh Patrick (I hope), but there is a nice little trek planned. Watch this space for further details.

ARAGLEN PONY CLUB

Membership fees are now due.

NEW BABY

Congratulations to Henry and Jenny on the safe arrival of their new baby boy.

ARAGLIN NATIONAL SCHOOL – CLOTHES COLLECTION

Our community is reminded that the clothes collection is ongoing and as it’s a great time for a spring clean, you are encouraged to drop all unwanted clothes to the community field (near the shop). All women, men’s and children’s clothing, paired footwear, handbags, belts, soft toys (teddies) curtains, towel and bed linen including duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases, blankets and throws, are accepted. Please note that pillows, duvets and carpets cannot be taken.

The next collection date from the community field will be January 22nd.

GET WELL WISHES

There are members from our community currently in hospital and some recovering at home. We wish you well for a speedy recovery and a return to good health.

WEEKLY NOTES

Please send your photos, announcements, congratulations/condolences or any stories to bleddy@avondhupress.ie before Sunday night for inclusion in the community notes pages. Again, this will ensure that our community gets the best exposure.
