SISTER SOUL

By Denis J Doherty

Carolyn has answered the call and followed the rainbow all the way down under and has seen the colours rekindled in the mission fields. when sighting the rainbow lorikeet.

Having coped with the thirsty dust of the shearing sun and in moments in between the tick tock of the clock rewinds memories of soft summer rain back home.

Like a salmon home from the sea with some tasks yet incomplete. she threads the slipways of endeavour. holding out her hand a to those who might slip or maybe fall.

And on assembled occasions when the pull of duty sways she’ll step in with her pristine touch and conduct the chorus, to the faithful kneeling in their pews.

She can jive and tango too and sing a lament when in tung. come Twilight her lantern glimmers.
