LISMORE TOWER

Recently 5th and 6th class took a tour to Lismore towers! We had a great time. The bus left at 9:30 am. We got there at 10:00 am. We started walking until we got to the first tower.

The gothic style castle was built for cruel landlord Arthur Kiely Usher in the 19th century. We were told to count all the poplar trees. Our tour guides, Gearoid and Ann led us to the next tower.

We went on the bridge and into the dungeon. On the bridge we were able to look down to the stream below it. We went over the bridge and took this photo.

Then we finally made it to the servant’s entrance and Ann told us all about it and told us about stalactites. We then continued walking back to the bus and ate our lunch.

A great day was had by all.
