Sad passing

It was a very sad and difficult week for the parish as we lost three members of our community. We offer our deepest sympathy to the Begley family on the passing of Phyllis, a very kind lady.

Also we send our sympathy to Geraldine Connelly and family on the sudden passing of Paddy (Flags), a loving husband and father and a gifted tradesman.

We also send our deepest condolences to Mary Pat, Danny, Megan and Harry Jnr on the passing of Harry English. Harry was the chairman of our club lotto and it was a fitting tribute to see him get such a large guard of honour from our GAA clubs. Harry fought a long illness with dignity. He was always great company to be with. A very witty and intelligent man who loved to have a laugh on his night outs. He was a great husband and father and very proud of his sons and daughter.

Harry will be dearly missed around the village by all who knew and loved him. He really was one of the good guys. May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

SPOT PRIZE WINNERS

Finally, hard luck to our hurlers Skeheenarinky who lost their junior A Munster final last Sunday in Mallow against our near neighbours Ballygiblin. They have given us a year to remember and went down fighting last week but alas the journey has come to an end.

We wish Ballygiblin well and hope that they can go all the way to all Ireland success now.
