Grade 6 (Blue) team through to Munster final

Last Sunday, our grade 6 team played their semi-final match at home against Bandon. Mitchelstown got off to a great start, Padraic winning his singles game with plenty to spare. Lyndsey played very well in her singles match, coming through in straight sets. The mixed doubles was a different story. Lee and Barbara played well early doors, taking the first set. Bandon however started to come into the match, and took the second set. The third set was a war of attrition, but the home side held firm and ground out a third set victory, booking the team’s passage to the Munster final. Well done to Barbara Piggott (captain), Lindsey Graham, Padraic Slattery and Lee Kielthy on a great victory. The final is due to be played on 23 January.

MUNSTER WINTER LEAGUE PHASE II 2022

This is very encouraging for the club and we wish all our players the best of luck in the competition. The group games will begin on the weekend of Feb 5/6. The draw for the group stages hasn’t been held yet, so match fixtures won’t be known until the groups have been finalised. The teams are as follows:

THE COLOURS LEAGUE CONTINUES

On Tuesday last, we made a start to the night’s games on a very cold evening. The first match between orange and blue was not completed, as the courts became frozen and matches had to be halted. These games will be completed during the week. The match between green and white was postponed and will be played at a later date.

The Thursday night’s matches had no weather issues and went ahead as scheduled. Team grey and team pink played out a very close game, ending the match 24 games each. Team red had a good night’s work, beating team yellow 30-21.
