Planning sought for large warehouse development

MARIAN ROCHE

Planning is being sought for the construction of a large development at Gurrane in Mitchelstown. Permission for the building of three warehouses with 243 parking spaces is sought, with the proposed development to be located in the townland of Gurrane north, Mitchelstown, on the Limerick Road.

The planning is being sought by Nocsy 4 Limited, a Dublin-based company. The submission seeks permission for one warehouse with a floor area of 10,958 square metres, and a maximum height of 17.15 metres. The second warehouse is to have a floor area of 8,550sqm and not exceed a height of 15 metres, with the third stated as having a gross floor area of 6,691sqm and an elevation of 16.5 metres.

In the building phase, two agricultural sheds are to be demolished and a car and pedestrian entrance constructed on the Limerick Road. The 243 parking spaces will include EV and accessible parking spaces.

Outside works are to include sliding gates, level access goods doors with ramps, dock levellers and ESB substations.

The full details of the development are not yet available from Cork County Council, as the application was lodged late last week. A decision on the planning application is expected in August.
