Fermoy taxi rank to be ‘renewed’
KATIE GLAVIN
Road markings to the Taxi Rank on Patrick Street in Fermoy town are to be renewed in the hopes of preventing other motorists from parking there.
At a recent meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District, local councillor Noel McCarthy called for the road markings to be made ‘more visible’ for the central taxi rank after receiving representations from taxi drivers in the area.
“It’s a big concern. Even though there are signs on poles and the area is marked out, people are still parking in the taxi rank,” Cllr McCarthy said.
Senior Engineer with Cork County Council, Brendan O’Gorman confirmed that the road markings will be renewed ‘in due course’.
