Diversions to be in place for road bowling final

Members of the public are reminded that part of the R626 Midleton to Rathcormac Road is subject to two closures, one in July and another in September.

From the three crossroads near Ballyedmond Bridge, Midleton to Ballinterry Crossroads in Rathcormac, road closures will apply

The first closure is to take place on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 from 9.30am until 7pm to facilitate the playing of the All-Ireland Road Bowling final.

In September, the same hours will apply to the second closure which takes place from Friday, September 23 until Sunday, September 25 to facilitate the playing of the King and Queen of the Roads International Road Bowling Tournament.

For those travelling from Midleton, motorists are advised to divert from the R626 at its junction with the LP3601 at Ballyedmond Hill and detour via the LP3601 Castlelyons Road to Two Pot Cross and via L3600 to Leary’s Cross, forward to the R628 to its junction with the R626 at Ballinterry Crossroads, Rathcormac.

The same diversion route is also applicable to those travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
