‘Dangerous’ fencing to be replaced

‘Dangerous’ fencing on the green area in Clondulane is soon to be replaced.

According to local councillor Frank O’Flynn, fencing around the green area has become a health and safety issue.

Following a motion tabled at the recent meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District, works are now due in the village to replace the fencing.

“This is a beautiful green area, very very much used and is the focal point in Clondulane. I’m delighted that this is being done. It’s very necessary as it is quite dangerous. This is welcome news and I’ve no doubt that this will enhance the area and make it much safer,” Cllr O’Flynn said.

Municipal District Officer, Pauline Moriarty confirmed that the area has been inspected and a quotation has been sought, received and recently approved.

Ms Moriarty stated that the council is now awaiting a timeline for the works from the contractor.
