Cope Foundation fundraisers back in person

KATIE GLAVIN

Cope Foundation’s Mitchelstown Fundraising Committee recently met in The Firgrove Hotel to discuss fundraising ideas. This is the first time the committee met in person in over two years.

There was a special mention of Cáit Garvey, who sadly passed away in March 2021. Cáit was an avid supporter of Cope Foundation and will be dearly missed.

In 2020, the group raised €2,400 by taking part in virtual fundraising events and selling masks.

At their recent meeting, they spoke about how much fundraising has been impacted as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The committee were thrilled to be able to meet in person and focus on fundraising plans for 2022 – so watch this space.

Cope Foundation supports over 2,800 children and adults of every ability to live ‘Your Life, Your Way’ and work to enhance the lives of people with an intellectual disability and/or autism; working in partnership with them, their families and local communities to provide a broad range of person-centred services and supports.

Services and supports are offered through Cope Foundation’s network of 70+ locations all over Cork City and county.

Their centres/supports can be found dotted throughout Cork city as well as in Ballincollig, Mitchelstown, Fermoy, Midleton, Cobh, Carrigaline, Clonakilty, Bandon, Skibbereen, Macroom, Kanturk and Mallow.
