CLÁR funding announced for local first responders

Community first responders have been granted funding for projects, and included amongst the awardees are the South East Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA), the Irish Community Air Ambulance based out of Mallow and the Irish Red Cross East Limerick.
Under Measure 2 of the CLÁR programme, the Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys has announced €1.62 million for the purchase of 32 vehicles in rural communities.
Under the scheme, the Irish Community Air Ambulance was granted €45,978 for the purchase of a new vehicle, and SEMRA were awarded €89,600, also for vehicle purchase. €55,000 is going to Irish Red Cross East Limerick for the purchase of a van.
Several other groups also received funding, including €50,000 for the Millstreet & District Housing Association for help to purchase a wheelchair-accessible eight-seater small bus. The Irish Red Cross in Cashel also received €55,000, to go towards the purchase of a van.
