Glenroe school opens its doors to the community

The school at Glenroe reached another significant milestone recently, hosting its first ever Open Day on Saturday, 11th June. The event gave past, current and prospective pupils and their families the opportunity to view the newly refurbished state-ofthe-art building.

Past pupils of the previous school - Scoil Mhuire - were particularly impressed with the IT equipment and recounted fond memories of their time there. The school prides itself on providing a child-centred education that focuses on the intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual needs of its pupils. The staff champion pupil development and provide a diverse learning experience with a particular emphasis on technology, languages, arts, wellbeing and natural sciences.

Current pupils were on hand to give visitors a tour of the building, affording them an opportunity to see what many unique educational opportunities the school has to offer.

Head teacher Julie O’Connor was delighted with the turnout for the event and thanked everyone who came out to visit the school. She also extended her warm gratitude to the local community who continue to support the school as it continues to develop.
