Works due on section of Mulberry Road
MARIAN ROCHE
Road improvements are due to take place soon on Mulberry Road in Mitchelstown, with road markings made on the surface of the road in recent weeks.
Four locations for ramps have also been indicated, and the road resurfacing will extend from the Brigown Road to just past the entrance for St Fanahan’s Well.
At the moment, there are no plans to do any work from the junction at Church Hill to the Clonmel Road, however, county engineer Brendan O’Gorman said that he is hopeful that resurfacing works and more ramps would be scheduled in future years.
Cllr Deirdre O’Brien welcomed the news, however, made a further request for a ramp in front of the Roches Heights and Captain
Keane’s Grove estates, saying that there was a speed issue by motorists in the area. The county engineer confirmed that he will include the project, should discretionary funding become available later in 2022.
