CORRIN MART REPORT
Usually at this time of year numbers would be quiet small, but thankfully this week at Corrin we had an increase in cattle offered for sale.
Even though trade in some areas are slightly under pressure this week, here in Corrin this week the larger sale brought extra buyers which ensured a strong, lively trade for all lots.
COWS
Good strong trade for dry cows Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.50 per kilo to €2.20 per kilo.
Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.90 per kilo up to €2.50 per kilo.
Limousin 600kg €1,700; Friesians 815kg €1,750; Friesians 790kg €1,610.
BULLOCKS
Larger numbers on offer with a very strong trade throughout.
Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.80 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.15 for
Continental bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.40 per kilo up to €2.70 per kilo.
Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.88 for Frieians up to €3.00 per kilo for Continentals. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.45 up to €2.70 per kilo.
Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €2.10 per kilo up to €2.87 per kilo.
Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+. Good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.25 up to €2.75 per kilo.
Charolais 283kgs €910; AA 681kgs €1,820; AA 445kgs €1,120; Hereford 525kgs €1,210.
HEIFERS
Good strong trade for heifers. Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.05 up to €2.60 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.25 per kilo.
Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.20 up to €2.95 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.35 per kilo.
Limousin 570kgs €1,680; AA 595kgs €1,560; AA 440kgs €1,210; Hereford 400kgs €1,010.
