Award winning demonstrator coming to Fermoy Flower and Garden Club

Fresh from winning awards for her flower arrangements and foral art at both Bloom and Cork Summer Show, Ann Hester comes to our club to give a demonstration titled ‘Lazy Days of Summer’ on Tuesday, 5th July at 8pm in the Adair Hall.

Ann is the chairperson of Cork Flower Club and is also a member of Ballincollig Flower Club. Combining this with her ongoing flower arranging makes for a very busy schedule for Ann, so we are delighted to welcome her on her first

Covid delayed visit to Fermoy. All are welcome, visitors and non members, €10 payable at the door. New members are always very welcome.

Please note that this month we have no access to the kitchen in the Adair Hall, so we are unfortunately unable to offer refreshments at the end of Ann’s demonstration. No competitions will take place this month either, nor will there be a plant sales table. We apologise for this, but it is outside our control. All will resume again in September. Ann’s arrangements will however be raffled on the night.

Names and money will be taken on the night for our club outing to Waterford on Tuesday, 12th July. The bus will leave from outside the Adair Hall at 9am, travelling first to Abbey Road Gardens where we will have refreshments and a walk around this award winning garden. There will be a stop for lunch in Waterford city, then on to Fairbrook House Garden and Museum for afternoon tea, a walk around the garden and a visit to the unusual art gallery and museum. Dinner will be in the Park Hotel in Dungarvan on the way home.

The cost is €75 for members with a supplement of €10 for non members to cover insurance costs. This includes bus, garden visits, refreshments and dinner. It does not include lunch in Waterford city. As this is our first club outing in 3 years we hope it will prove popular with members and friends.

Committee members are reminded that a short committee meeting will be held at 7pm in the hall on the 5th before the demonstration to finalise details of the outing and other matters.

There will be no club meeting in August, so we wish members and friends a happy summer of gardening and hopefully sunshine. We will be back in September with a full agenda, including celebrating the club’s 45th anniversary on 13th September in Fermoy Golf Club.

In the meantime we look forward to seeing a big crowd in the Adair Hall on 5th for what should be a very enjoyable demonstration.
