Roche masters tricky conditions to bring home the bacon

On Saturday last it was off to Thurles Golf Club for Brian Cashman’s President Prize, an eagerly awaited affair with a big crowd turning up on the day.

It was a very windy day but thankfully the rain stayed away, so after all the cards were returned this was how it went: 1st Martin Roche 39pts; 2nd Austin Wilson 37pts; 3rd Ray O’Driscoll 35pts; Cat 1 Noel Cashman 35pts; Cat 2 Noel Hogan 33pts; Front 9 Paul O’Dwyer 19pts; Back 9 Don Quill 17pts; Nearest to pin Clive Brooks; 1st Guest Clive Brooks; Longest drive Paul Beecher; Best juvenile Daniel Fogarty.

President Brian presented all the prizes with his crutches in hand in case anyone misbehaved. He thanked everyone for turning up on the day and the course staff for having the course in excellent condition. He congratulated Martin for returning such a great score in such difficult conditions and he thanked everyone who helped out on the day doing the cards, booking in each golfer and for getting the prizes. After receiving his prize Martin thanked Brian for having such a lovely prize, he thanked all who turned up and looked forward to seeing everyone in East Cork for our next outing on the 16 July.

We wish Brian a speedy recovery from his injury and look forward to seeing him back on the golf course shortly.
