Junior A football championship on Tuesday, 5th July

Our Junior A footballers get our championship season up and running when they play our regular nemesis Mallow in the first round in Castletownroche on Tuesday next, 2 July. Our form has not been great in the league but championship is a different proposition and we know the boys will give it everything and bring home the victory. We wish ye the best of luck lads.

HURLING

We face up to Fr. O’Neills in our final hurling league game of 2022 this Saturday. The game is being played in Caherlag at the request of our opponents and throw in is at 4pm. In what was a very tough division of the league, we coped quite well winning 3 games, drawing 1 and losing 4. Our wins were against Na Piarsaigh, Midleton and Bishopstown, the draw was against Killeagh and our losses were against Newcestown, Blackrock, Douglas and Newtownshandrum.

We have played extremely well in all our games but the superior experience and nuance shown by our opponents in the losses were difficult factors to compete with. We look forward to the O’Neills game as it is our last competitive game before championship and they are the favourites so it will be a stern test.
