Best of luck in the national finals

This weekend we have a number of players talking part in the national strokeplay finals.

On Saturday we have Daniel O’Regan he is playing in Killineer, Drogheda and on Sunday we have Daniel Keohane John Cahill and Paudi O’Sullivan playing in Ring Commons, Dublin. We wish them all the best and hopefully they can bring home a prize.

LADIES REPORT

On Tuesday, 21 June the ladies played a 4 ball sponsored by Breda Kennedy. There was a great turnout on a beautiful warm evening. Breda has been sponsoring for many years and along with the committee puts in a tremendous amount of work in the ladies club. The winners on the night were; Noreen Ryan and Nora O’Driscoll (Overall nett), runners up Kathleen O’Gorman and Kathleen Grumbridge. Congratulations ladies and well done.

On Tuesday, 5 July the prizes are sponsored by Shinnicks Spar. Brian has been sponsoring for many years and he is a great supporter and friend of the club. On Saturday, 9 July the lady captain Michelle Flynn’s prize is taking place starting at 11am.

All the ladies wish Michelle a fantastic day. The ladies miss their great friend Michael Cahill RIP. Michael would be coming on to the course for a practice just as the ladies would be finishing.

They would have lovely chats with him and he talked so lovingly about his wife Pauline and all the family. He was so proud of them. He also gave us many tips on the finer points of the game.

The club was all the richer for having Michael as a member and sponsor. Michael’s family Pauline, John, Willie, Eileen and grandchildren will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Last Thursday night we had a 2 ball. The weather was spectacular and there was a good crowd. The winners were JJ O’Connor and Theresa O’Keeffe and Mark O’Keeffe and Daniel Keohane (gross). Well done to them. We will have a 2 ball on Thursday night at 7pm and we hope to see ye all there.
