Go Games blitz a success

U6 WELL KIDS

Well Kids continues on Tuesdays at 6pm on the Astro.

U8 & U10

Well done to our U8 and U10 panels who took part in the Waterford Go Games blitz in Ballyduff Upper on Saturday, 25th June. Our girls had great fun in the sunshine (luckily escaping the rain) and played some great games against Tallow, St Annes and Ballyduff Lower.

Thanks to everyone who helped out on the morning and to all our coaches Karen O’Donovan, Ollie Fitzgerald and Carmel Casey (U10) and Donagh Berry, Siobhan Barry and Edith Scanlon (U8) for all the work behind the scenes. It was great to see the pitch full of future Waterford camogie stars and thanks to Tallow, St Annes and Ballyduff Lower for coming over on the day.

Thanks also to our U16 girls Niamh Ryan, Molly Kenneally, Nora Ahern, Ailish O’Donovan and Sibhe Collins for refereeing all games on the day.

U10 panel - Ciara O’Donovan, Sarah Casey, Aoibhinn Barry, Aimee Kenny, Lizzie Morrison, Denise Martin, Molly Dooling, Muireann Noonan, Maya Feeney, Isla-Mai Scanlon, Bebhinn O’Donovan, Miyah Fitzgerald, Katelyn Nugent and Chloe Creamer.

U8 panel - Lucy Barry, Kate Scanlon, Anna O’Brien, Saoirse Berry, Orna O’Callaghan, Aoife Daly, Sadbh Berry, Aoife Nugent, Elle Kenny, Molly Martin.

Training continues on Tuesdays at 7pm (U8) and Thursday at 6.15pm (U10).

U12

Our U12s had a good win on Thursday, 23rd June when they welcomed Ardmore/St Declans to Ballyduff for their 4th league game.

Our girls got stuck in from the word go and gave a great display of skill and teamwork. The game was nip and tuck from start to finish and in the end our girls ran out winners on a score of Ballyduff 4-03 Ardmore/St Declans 1-02.

Thanks to our coaches John Lynch, Therese Twomey and Rachel Foley for all their hard work. Well done all, onto the next one now.

U14

Training for U14 continues on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6.45pm. Any queries please contact Trevor Geary, Mag Barry or Jackie Hannon.

Upcoming fixture for U14 league as follows: Thursday, 14th July away v St Declans at 6.30pm.

U16 AND MINOR

U16/Minor training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm. Challenge matches for both age groups to follow in due course. Any queries please contact Shane Feeney.

Remaining fixtures for the U16 league are: Tuesday, 2nd August (home) v Cappoquin.; Tuesday, 9th August (away) v Tallow. U16 Knockout stages Tuesday, 16th August. All matches are at 6.30pm throw.

Remaining fixtures for the Minor league are: Home v An Rinn (time and date TBC). Minor knockout stages Tuesday, 30th August.

CONGRATS

Congrats to Niamh Ryan, Ailish O’Donovan and Sibhe Collins who were part of the Waterford U16 ‘A’ team that beat Dublin on Sunday, 26th June in Walsh Park in round 1 of the Tesco U16 ‘ A’ All-Ireland Camogie Championship. Round 2 will see Waterford taking on Tipperary on Sunday, 3rd July in The Ragg, Co Tipperary at 2pm. All support on the day is greatly appreciated.

A win in round 2 for Waterford would see them qualify for the All Ireland semi-final! Best of luck girls and to Shane Feeney also (management team).
