THE LATE NORA KELLEHER (NEE FIVES) - OBITUARY

It is with the deepest sorrow that we record the passing of Nora Kelleher (nee Fives), late of Gortnafira, Curraglass, Tallow, loving wife of the late Mort (Mortimer) Kelleher, at her home on 11th February.

Lying in repose at Aidan Walsh & Sons Funeral Home, Tallow on Monday where funeral prayers were recited by Rev. Fr. Pat Butler in the presence of her loving family, neighbours and friends, this was followed by removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tallow. On arrival members of local Bridge clubs and Lismore Golf Club formed a guard of honour in the church yard, where her remains were then received and blessed by Rev. Fr. Pat Butler.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday morning by Fr. Butler. Her nephew, John Fives delivered a fitting eulogy giving an insight into Nora’s life, hobbies, interests and acknowledged the help and support that Nora received from her neighbours, carers and friends. Readings during the Mass were recited by her nephew Aonghus Fives and niece Jill Fives.

Prayers of the Faithful were read by her nieces Orla Fives Kennedy, Karen Fives, grand-nephew Padraig Fives, nephew Tom Fives, along with family friends Paul Ryan and Mary Slattery. The offertory gifts were presented to the altar by family friends Bree Condon and Claire Walsh. A lovely selection of music and hymns was provided by soloist Andrea Cunningham and organist Dina Walshe throughout the Mass.

Afterwards, burial took place in the adjoining cemetery where Fr Butler officiated the graveside prayers, as Nora was laid to rest in the presence of her loving family, neighbours and friends.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her loving sister Mary Fives, sisters-in-law Judy and Brenda Fives, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, all her kind neighbours, her wonderful carers, relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements by Aidan Walsh and Sons Funeral Directors Cappoquin and Tallow. May she rest in peace.
