Speed limit change in Ballyhooly

A proposal to reduce the speed limit on the N72 at Leacht Cross, Ballyhooly from 100km/h to 80km/ h was accepted at council recently.

The change is being made following a speed limit review on national roads and forms part of the draft changes.

At the March meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District, councillors agreed to the change, however, Cllr Frank O’Flynn asked that the Fermoy Municipal District ‘fight’ to see a further reduction to 60km/h.

While Mr O’Gorman said that they would write again regarding a further reduction, he advised accepting the reduction to 80km/h in the meantime.
