CLASSICAL SOUNDS IN KILWORTH

JOHN AHERN

Patrons were treated to an evening of classical music in Kilworth Community Centre on Wednesday, 22nd March. The big attraction were members of Chamber Philharmonic Europe, who tour regularly, with great success, on the continent.

This was a rare opportunity for Irish audiences to experience the delights of such legendary composers as Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart. This music may be hundreds of years old, however, it retains a freshness and vitality that's timeless.

Chief soloists were Pawel Zuzanski and Cyrill Gussaroff. Polish national, Pawel is a much travelled violinist, who broke new ground last year by touring Australia. Russian, Cyrill Gussaroff, comes from a very creative family and received much of his musical education in Germany.

Chamber Philharmonic Europe were warmly received in Kilworth by a diverse, knowledgable and appreciative audience. At the end of the programme, standing ova

tions brought them back on stage for not one, but two encores - proof of just how well this German-based ensemble were received. And this writer is reliably informed that Chamber Philharmonic Europe will be back in Kilworth in April 2024.
