Garda recruitment event in Mitchelstown

A Garda recruitment event is to be held on Wednesday, April 5 at the Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown.

Taking place from 4pm until 8pm, those between the ages of 18 and 34 are invited to come along to meet and speak with Gardaí and those in training.

“Gardaí from different units will be there to chat with anyone who is interested in a career with An Garda Síochána. Members currently in training will be able to share what the current recruitment and training process involves.

“We are hoping that there will be plenty of interest from people in the community who reflect our increasing diversity and the changing needs of modern policing,” said Fermoy Community Garda Conor Gately.

Those interested must be between the ages of 18 and 34 (be 18 years of age but not yet 35 years of age at midnight on March 16, 2022) and a national of an EU Member State, an EEA State, UK or Swiss Confederation.

Recruits must also be proficient in the Irish language and/or English language and must have relinquished all previous employment prior to entry to the Garda College and may not be on a career break from any such employment upon entry. Further requirements must also be met, as detailed through the application available through publicjobs.ie, with the application deadline set at 3pm on Friday, April 14.
