FASHION SHOW A HIT FOR LISMORE GAA

Lismore GAA Club held a very successful fashion show last Friday night and after getting all dolled up, report a very successful evening. With funds still coming in, the club can’t yet say how much was raised, but report a “lot of laughs” were had!

The fashion show was held to raise funds for the general dayto-day running of the club, and hosted at the Blackwater Community School in Lismore. A wine and cheese reception greeted guests, with some generous raffle prizes on offer too.

One of the organisers, Maria Prendergast thanked all who participated, including fashion outlets throughout the region: Muiri K boutique children’s fashion Dungarvan; Mary FM Fashion in Lismore; Willow & Oak in Dungarvan; Rosemantique Bridalwear, Lismore; Devereux’s Manshop in Dungarvan, and the Vanilla boutique and Carma boutique in Fermoy.

She also thanked all the models who took part, including Grace Kiely, Melanie Howard, Jerome Quann, Eva Hamilton, Jamie Lyons, Millie Cunningham, Joe Barry, Molly and Sophie Barry, Rosalee Lineen and Alayna O’Sullivan, all models for the children’s section. In the adult’s section, it was Becky Fennessy, Katie Shanahan, Sharon Cummins, Emer Barry, Mary Russell, Marion Coleman, Patricia Morrissey, Joe Pollard, John Landers, Patrick Buckley, Maurice Shanahan, and Sergio, Sean and Corry, who all put their best feet forward for the worthy effort.

“Each model was fantastic on the night, and we must make a special mention for Maurice and Katie who managed to walk down the aisle for the second time! And to the man who stole the show with his moves and confidence, Patrick Buckley. Well done to Dan Geoghegan who was a super compère; RTÉ will be scouting him soon. Well done all!”

“Thanks to all committee who helped in any way” said Maria. “And thanks also to Pat Fitzgerald and Maurice Geary, and also to Blackwater Community School for the use of their hall. We had a great turnout on the night, with lots of laughs, and all proceeds go to Lismore GAA Club.”

FAMILY FUN DAY

The GAA and Camogie Club will be holding a ‘Family Fun Day’ on Easter Monday, where all are invited to see their new all-weather pitch, ball-wall, and where a plaque in honour of former player, Paddy Moore will be officially unveiled. From 2pm to 5pm, there will be children’s activities, spot prizes and refreshments at the club grounds. All welcome.
