STUDENT COUNCIL

By Peter, Bailey, Trína, Ellie-Grace and Rachel

This year Scoil Mhuire Araglin established a student council. Tadhg K, Caoimhe, Saoirse, EllieGrace, Trína, and Bailey are the representatives on the student council.

The student council was set up so students have a say in the school’s choices. The student council and wellbeing committee are working together to make Araglin school a Right’s Respecting School through UNICEF.

We are working on hopefully getting our bronze award this year. There are 42 children’s rights to keep children happy, safe and healthy. The senior classroom selected seven children’s rights to focus on this year. To respect children’s rights in our school, we have our student council, we complete surveys on new policies, teachers work with pupils to make new policies, teachers ask pupil’s their opinions and children are involved in decision making such as designing the new school jerseys.
