Presentation to U13 hurlers

A great evening was had last Friday at Mitchelstown Leisure Centre. After their epic battle with Killavullen in last season’s U12 North Cork final and subsequent replay, the boys emerged as worthy North Cork champions.

The team were presented with their Plate Medals by Kieran Duggan, James Mullins and Shane Beston. A big thank you to these team members for giving of their time and to Kathy and Emma for the refreshments afterwards.

Well done to all the squad and trainers involved.

U14 FOOTBALLERS MAKE IT TWO FROM TWO

Our U14 footballers had another win in round 2 of the Rebel Óg League on Sunday morning last over Clyda Rovers. Aided by the wind they played some lovely football in the 1st half and took their scores well.

They led 3-5 to 1-2 at the short whistle. Our boys faced into the wind in the second half and the sides traded scores with Mitchelstown defending very well. They added 1-6 to their half-time total to emerge victorious on a 4-11 to 4-4 score line.

A notable feature of the Mitchelstown scoring was that all bar a goal came from play. Their next game is on April 5th away to Banteer/Lyre

Team: M Biegnowski, G O’Connell, K Breen, C Hoye, O O’Farrell, T Wakalinski, J Farrissey (1-1) O Maher, X Motherway (1-2), S O’Regan (1-7), C O’Meara, J Connolly-Murphy (1-1), S Spillane, E O’Regan-Stocks, M Walsh, P Kinsella and S O’Sullivan.

U8 HURLING BLITZ

Well done to all our U8 hurlers who performed so well at the Hurling Blitz in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. It was a wonderful experience for the boys to get to play at this prestigious venue at such a young age. Many thanks to the trainers, parents and guardians who made this possible.

U9 FOOTBALL BLITZ

Our U9 footballers had their first outing of the season against Bride Rovers in O’Connell Park last Saturday morning. Our three U9 teams got three challenging matches under their belt and performed well throughout. Training will continue in the Limerick Road Pitch on Wednesdays from 6.15 to 7.15pm.

The U9 hurlers will train on Tuesday nights from 7 to 8pm at the Mitchelstown Leisure Centre outdoor pitches.

DISCO INFERNO

Well done to Mitchelstown Musical Society and all involved in making ‘Disco Inferno’ the great success it was. The quality of production, performance and choreography would not have been out of place in the Bord Gais Theatre and 3Arena! Special mention to our own members Karl, Tom, Denis, Clement, Owen and James, who found time in their already busy schedules to be part of the cast.

RAFFLE

With our Car Raffle to be held on March 31st we would urge everyone to try to buy or sell one more ticket. The new development will benefit everyone from kids, future players, older members of the community and local schools. It is a limited raffle so there is a great chance of winning. Please support!

CLUB REGISTRATION

A gentle reminder that all boys need to be registered with the club in order to play or train.
