Get ready for ‘Easter time’ with Fermoy Flower and Garden Club

On Tuesday, 4th April we welcome back one of the club’s favourite demonstrators, Eileen O’Brien from Kinsale to the Adair Hall at 8pm. Eileen’s last visit to us was such a success that we are delighted she has found time in her busy schedule to visit us once again, for an Easter themed teaching demonstration to our members and visitors.

Eileen will give what is called in flower arranging circles an ‘imposed’ class where she will demonstrate how to make arrangements suitable for Easter and then invite members and visitors to have a go at recreating these arrangements. It is called an ‘imposed class’ because participants do not know in advance what arrangements they be making or what materials they will be using, thus it is ‘imposed’ on them. All materials will be provided by the club and participants are free to take home their own arrangements. Participation is voluntary, members and visitors are also welcome to observe, learn and give their verdicts on the arrangements made.

Anyone who attended Eileen’s demonstration last October, where she gave a ‘Surprise Imposed Class will attest to how enjoyable and social the evening was so we encourage as many as possible to take part. Doors open at 7.30pm, visitors €10 at the door new members always welcome. Refreshments will be served, a raffle will be held and the sales table will be open.

Competitions on the night (open to members only)

Horticulture (A): 3 different tulips. Horticulture (B): 1 stem Spring flowering shrub.
